China’s steel plate imports up 9.2 percent in July

In July this year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate, and steel pipes and hollow sections amounted to 100,000 mt, 20,000 mt, 960,000 mt, and 30,000 mt, up 9.1 percent, down 0.4 percent, rising by 9.2 percent and decreasing by 17.4 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
 
In the January-July period of the current year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate, and steel pipes and hollow sections amounted to 690,000 mt, 180,000 mt, 6.39 million mt, and 210,000 mt, up 8.9 percent, down 24.4 percent, down 1.3 percent and decreasing by 5.2 percent, respectively, year on year.
