China’s steel plate imports up 6.67 percent in February

In February this year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate, and steel pipes and hollow sections amounted to 70,000 mt, 20,000 mt, 800,000 mt, and 30,000 mt, up 16.67 percent, remaining stable, up 6.67 percent and rising by 50.0 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities. In the January-February period of the current year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate, and steel pipes and hollow sections amounted to 160,000 mt, 30,000 mt, 1.58 million mt, and 60,000 mt, up 9.4 percent, down 25.8 percent, up 7.4 percent and decreasing by 11.8 percent, respectively, year on year.
