According to the South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (SEAISI),
China's steel export to the ASEAN region surged significantly in the first nine months of 2014.
In particular, Chinese rebar exports to the ASEAN region almost doubled in volume to 4 million mt in the given period, while
China's hot rolled coil (HRC) exports to the region rose by 52.1 percent to 2.4 million mt, both year on year.
On the other hand, in the first 10 months of 2014,
China's finished steel imports slowed down to 4.1 percent year on year, while the country's finished steel exports jumped by 42.4 percent year on year in the same period, resulting in a huge net export volume of 62.27 million mt in the first 10 months of the year.
