At the recently held 2nd Asian Steel Forum, the chief analyst of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), Li Shijun stated that during the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-15), China's crude steel consumption will grow at a slower pace. The year on year growth is estimated to be 2-7 percent.
Mr Li also noted that in the given period, Chinese steel industry will face four main challenges including slowing down of demand, need to upgrade the steel industry, limitation of resources and homogenous competition
