China’s steel bar imports down 9.1 percent in January-April

On May 26, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (May 18-24) the overall average finished steel price in China decreased by 0.9 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of both common high-speed wire rod and rebar in China decreased by 1.1 percent week on week, respectively.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China decreased by 1.2 percent compared to the previous week. The average price of nickel (Ni >= 99.2%) declined by 5.1 percent compared to the previous week.

In addition, in the week in question, the average price of coal in China decreased by 0.2 percent week on week. In particular, the average prices of anthracite coal, thermal coal and coking coal declined by 0.2 percent, 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent week on week, respectively.
