China’s steel bar exports increase by 4.4 percent in January-October

In October this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rods and steel plates amounted to 2.74 million mt, 390,000 mt, 180,000 mt, and 3.46 million mt, down 20.5 percent, 10.8 percent, 8.4 percent, and 9.3 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
 
In the January-October period of the current year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rods and steel plates totaled 36.70 million mt, 4.31 million mt, 1.93 million mt, and 39.93 million mt, increasing by 4.4 percent, down 5.8 percent, up 1.2 percent, and decreasing by 0.6 percent, respectively, year on year.
 
In October this year, China exported 7.69 million mt of finished steel, down 14.8 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the January-October period this year totaled 92.63 million mt, increasing by 0.5 percent year on year, as previously announced by Chinese customs.
