China’s Shanxi Province to cut 20 million mt of coal capacity in 2017

China’s Shanxi Province has announced that it aims to eliminate 20 million mt of coal production capacity and 1.7 million mt of steelmaking capacity in 2017.

In 2016, Shanxi Province eliminated 23.25 million mt of coal capacity and 0.82 million mt of steelmaking capacity, achieving its targets for the year.
