China’s railway equipment exports rise by 22.6 percent in 2014

In 2014, China’s railway equipment exports amounted to a value of RMB 26.77 billion ($4.37 billion), up 22.6 percent year on year, as announced by China’s customs authorities. 

The main exported goods in question were locomotives and vehicles for railways and tramways, which accounted for a total export value of RMB 15.45 billion ($2.52 billion), up 13.3 percent year on year. 

The ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region, Argentina, Australia and America were the main destinations for China’s rail equipment exports in 2014, with export values of RMB 3.84 billion ($0.63 billion), RMB 3.45 billion ($0.56 billion), RMB 3.35 billion ($0.55 billion) and RMB 3.17 billion ($0.52 billion), up 1.2 times, rising by 45.9 percent, down 40 percent and up 47.2 percent year on year, respectively.
