In August this year, China produced 72,000 new energy vehicles, up 67.3 percent year on year, including 58,000 pure electric passenger cars and 14,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 79.6 percent and 29.4 percent year on year, respectively, according to the latest data issued by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the January-August period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 346,000 units, up 33.5 percent on year-on-year basis, including 284,000 pure electric passenger cars, rising by 45.4 percent, and 62,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, down 2.6 percent year on year, respectively.
