China’s iron ore imports increase by 8.9 percent in January-October

In October this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 80.80 million mt, down 13.11 percent month on month and increasing by 6.99 percent year on year, while in the January-October period this year China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 843.31 million mt, up 8.9 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on November 8.

In October this year, China imported 1.08 million mt of finished steel, down 4.42 percent month on month and increasing by 13.7 percent year on year. In the January-October period, China’s imports of finished steel totaled 10.91 million mt, rising by 2.1 percent year on year.
