China’s investments in One Belt, One Road countries falls in Jan-Apr

In the January-April period this year, China's non-financial direct investment to countries in the One Belt, One Road area amounted to $3.72 billion, down 3.9 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) in a press release issued on June 2. The investments in question accounted for 10.6 percent of China's total non-financial direct investment to overseas countries in the given period, while most of it went to Singapore, Indonesia, Laos and Russia. In April alone, China's non-financial direct investment to countries in the One Belt, One Road area totaled $1.16 billion, up 12.5 percent year on year.

In the January-April period of the current year, China recorded a bilateral trade figure of $316.08 billion with the given countries, down 8.7 percent year on year and accounting for 25.9 percent of China's overall foreign trade figure in the given period.
