China's gross domestic product (GDP) indicated a year-on-year increase of 6.9 percent to RMB 67.6708 trillion ($10.28 trillion) in 2015, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on January 19. In particular, respective year-on-year increases in GDP of 7.0 percent, 7.0 percent, 6.9 percent and 6.8 percent were recorded in the first quarter, the second quarter, the third quarter and the fourth quarter of 2015.
In 2015, China’s domestic primary, secondary and tertiary industries contributed RMB 6.0863 trillion ($0.92 trillion), RMB 27.4278 trillion ($4.17 trillion) and RMB 34.1567 trillion ($5.19 trillion) to the country’s GDP, rising by 3.9 percent, 6.0 percent and 8.3 percent respectively on year-on-year basis. In the fourth quarter of 2015, China’s GDP increased by 1.6 percent compared to the third quarter of 2015.
