China’s foreign trade value up 11.4 percent in January

In January this year, China’s total foreign trade value amounted to $314.17 billion, indicating a month-on-month decrease of 17 percent and a year-on-year increase of 11.4 percent, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on February 10. In the given month, the total value of China’s exports amounted to $182.76 billion, down 12.7 percent month on month and increasing by 7.9 percent year on year, while Chinese imports totaled $131.41 billion in value, down 22.4 percent month on month and rising by 16.7 percent year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of $51.35 billion.
