China’s foreign trade value down 8.7 percent in January-July

In July this year, China’s total foreign trade value amounted to $317.158 billion, indicating a month-on-month increase of 1.7 percent and a year-on-year decrease of 7.9 percent, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on August 8. In the given month, the total value of China’s exports amounted to $184.733 billion, up 2.9 percent month on month and decreasing by 4.4 percent year on year, while Chinese imports totaled $132.425 billion in value, up 0.1 percent month on month and declining by 12.5 percent year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of $52.308 billion.

In the January-July period of the current year, China’s total foreign trade value amounted to $2.027755 trillion, down 8.7 percent year on year, while the total value of China’s exports and imports amounted to $1.167649 trillion and $860.107 billion, down 7.4 percent and declining by 10.5 percent year on year, respectively, resulting in a trade surplus of $307.542 billion in the given period.
