China’s foreign trade value down 7.6 percent in January-April

In April this year, China's total foreign trade value amounted to $318.527 billion, indicating a year-on-year decrease of 11.1 percent and a month-on-month rise of 11.4 percent, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities. In the given month, the total value of China's exports amounted to $176.331 billion, up 22.0 percent month on month and decreasing by 6.4 percent year on year, while Chinese imports totaled $142.196 billion in value, up 0.5 percent month on month and declining by 16.2 percent year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of $34.134 billion.

In the January-April period of the current year, China's total foreign trade value amounted to $1.222507 trillion, down 7.6 percent year on year, while the total value of China's exports and imports amounted to $690.157 billion and $532.35 billion, rising by 1.6 percent and declining by 17.3 percent year on year, respectively, resulting in a trade surplus of $157.806 billion in the given period.
