China’s fixed asset investments up 8.1 percent in 2016

In 2016, total fixed asset investments (excluding rural households) in China amounted to RMB 59.6501 trillion ($8.68 trillion), up 8.1 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on January 23, with the year-on-year increase rate in question down 0.2 percentage points compared to that recorded in the January-November period of last year. In December, fixed asset investments (excluding rural households) in China increased by 0.53 percent month on month.

In 2016, total fixed asset investment in China's mining sector amounted to RMB 1.032 trillion ($150.22 billion), down 20.4 percent year on year, while fixed asset investment in China's manufacturing sector totaled RMB 18.7836 trillion ($2.73 trillion), up 4.2 percent year on year.
