China's fixed asset investments up 20.3% in January-August

In the first eight months of the current year, China's overall fixed asset investments totaled RMB 26.2578 trillion ($4.249 trillion), up 20.3 percent year on year, while the investment figure for August alone was RMB 4.0856 trillion ($661.1 billion), up 1.61 percent month on month, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on September 10.

In particular, nearly RMB 578.7 billion ($94.6 billion) of China's fixed asset investment total for the January-August period was used in agriculture, RMB 11.3237 trillion ($1.85 trillion) was invested in industry, and RMB 14.3554 trillion ($2.35 trillion) was invested in the services sector, with respective increases of 32 percent, 16.6 percent and 23 percent year on year.
