China’s fixed asset investments in transport up 9.95% in Jan-July

 In the first seven months of the current year, China's fixed-asset investments in its transport sector reached RMB 751.186 billion ($122.9 billion), up 9.95 percent year on year, while the investment figure for July alone was RMB 151.545 billion ($24.8 billion), as announced by China's Ministry of Transport.

Specifically, nearly RMB 664.002 billion ($108.6 billion) of the investment total for the January-July period was used in the construction of roadways, RMB 29.628 billion ($4.85 billion) was invested in inland waterway construction, RMB 48.928 billion ($8.01 billion) was used in the development of coastal areas, while the remaining RMB 8.629 billion ($1.41 billion) was spent on other construction projects in the transport sector.
