China’s finished steel exports up 12.1 percent in January-June

According to the Chinese customs authorities, in June this year China's finished steel exports amounted to 5.22 million mt, down 10,000 mt compared to May but up 21.42 percent on year-on-year basis. In the first half of the year, China's overall finished steel exports totaled 27.25 million mt, up 12.1 percent year on year.

On the other hand, China's finished steel imports in June came to 1.1 million mt, down 220,000 mt compared to May and down 8.52 percent on year-on-year basis. In the first six months, China's overall finished steel imports totaled 6.96 million mt, down 13.4 percent year on year.

Also in June, China's iron ore imports totaled 58.31 million mt, down 5.5335 million mt compared to May and up 14.13 percent on year-on-year basis. In the January-June period, China's iron ore imports reached 366.20 million mt, up 9.7 percent year on year.
