China’s finished steel exports down 3.5 percent in 2016

In December last year, China exported 7.8 million mt of finished steel, down 0.32 million mt month on month and decreasing by 26.8 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the full year of 2016 totaled 108.43 million mt, down 3.5 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on January 16.

In December of last year, China exported 900,000 mt of metallurgical coke, down 30,000 mt month on month and decreasing by 37.9 percent year on year. In the January-December period, China’s coke exports totaled 10.12 million mt, increasing by 4.9 percent year on year.
