China’s domestic crude steel output totals 683.27 million mt in 2011

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, in December 2011 China's total domestic crude steel output saw a 0.7 percent year-on-year increase to 52.16 million mt, while the average daily output in December was 1.6826 million mt, up 20,000 mt month on month. Meanwhile, China's crude steel output for the whole of 2011 totaled 683.27 million mt, up 8.9 percent as compared to 2010.

In December 2011, China's pig iron and finished steel outputs amounted to 48.01 million mt and 71.07 million mt, up 3.7 percent and six percent year on year, respectively. For the full year, China's pig iron and finished steel outputs totaled 629.69 million mt and 881.31 million mt, up 8.4 percent and 12.3 percent year on year, respectively.
