In May, China's crude steel production continued its 10 percent growth, with the average daily production remaining constant compared with April.
China's crude steel production in May totaled 46.0125 million mt, up 4.3908 million mt or 10.5 percent year on year. Average daily production during the month reached 1.4842 million mt, slightly down 4,900 mt month on month and up 141,600 mt year on year. Meanwhile, crude steel production for the January-May period reached 216.1128 million mt, up 18.6342 million mt or 9.4 percent year on year.
China's pig iron production in May totaled 43.0380 million mt, up 3.2758 million mt or 8.2 percent year on year. At the same time, total pig iron production in the January-May period reached 202.9981 million mt, up 15.2255 million mt or 12.5 percent.
China's finished steel production for May totaled 53.3781 million mt, up 6.4106 million mt or 13.6 percent year on year. On the other hand, national finished steel production from January to May inclusive reached 246.0353 million mt, up 27.3693 million mt or 12.5 percent.
China's coke output for May totaled 29.9356 million mt, up 2.9553 million mt or 11 percent year on year. Meanwhile, national coke output for the January-May period reached 140.7915 million mt, up 15.4648 million mt or 12.3 percent year on year.
China's ferroalloy output totaled 1.7798 million mt in May, up 299,500 mt or 20.2 percent year on year. For the January-May period, on the other hand, national ferroalloy production reached 7.6663 million mt, up 1.1915 million mt or 18.4 percent year on year.
In May, China's iron ore output totaled 75.493 million mt, up 16.4781 million mt or 27.9 percent compared with the same month last year. The January-May iron ore output reached 310.905 million mt, up 63.5059 million mt or 25.7 percent year on year.
