China’s crude steel output totals 112.616 million mt in Jan-Feb

According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, during the first two months of the current year China produced 112.616 million mt of crude steel, 104.342 million mt of pig iron and 139.29 million mt of finished steel, up by 2.2 percent, 3.2 percent and 4.6 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in February alone China's crude steel output totaled 55.883 million mt, up 3.3 percent year on year, while total domestic outputs of pig iron and finished steel reached 53.416 million mt and 71.27 million mt, up by 3.8 percent and 10.7 percent year on year, respectively. 


In the January-February period, China's outputs of iron ore and coke registered 16.3 percent and 3.3 percent year-on-year increases to 153.084 million mt and 68.932 million mt respectively. In February alone, domestic iron ore output reached 81.566 million mt, up 24.4 percent, while domestic coke output totaled 34.304 million mt, up 4.7 percent - both on year-on-year basis.
