China’s crude steel output down 1.3 percent in January-April

In April, China's pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 59.49 million mt, 68.91 million mt and 96.41 million mt, down 2.1 percent, decreasing by 0.7 percent and up 3.4 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on May 13.

In the first four months of the year, China's pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 236.13 million mt, 270.07 million mt and 361.09 million mt, down 2.5 percent, decreasing by 1.3 percent and rising by 2.1 percent year on year, respectively.
