China’s color coated sheet import/export through July
Color coated sheet imports have fallen off over the past year as China continues to expand its domestic coated steel productivity. Output of coated sheet reached 145'100 tons in July 2005, up 68.5 percent year on year. Output for the first seven months of the year totaled 923'500 tons, jumping 56.7 percent or 334'100 tons year on year. China exported 6'200 tons of color coated sheet in July, and net imports were 25'600 tons.
