According to the latest data released by the Chinese customs authorities, in the January-November period of the current year China's metallurgical coke and semi-coke export volume increased to 3.20 million mt, up 6.6 percent year on year, with an export value of $1.443 billion, up 15.8 percent year on year.

In November alone, China's coke and semi-coke export volume reached 90,000 mt, down 10 percent year on year. It is expected that China's annual coke output will total 420 million mt in 2011, with an export volume of 3.30-3.50 million mt at an average FOB price of around $430/mt. The export tariff of 40 percent has significantly influenced coke exports, which are less than one percent of domestic coke output.
