China’s average daily crude steel output declines in July compared to June

According to the data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics, in July China's crude steel output reached 51.74 million mt, rising by 2.2 percent year on year, with the average daily crude steel output at 1.669 million mt, down by 123,000 mt compared to the preceding month. The country's total crude steel output in the January-July period this year was 375.48 million mt, increasing by 18.2 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in July China's output of pig iron was 47.58 million mt, decreasing by 1.9 percent, while national finished steel output reached 67.67 million mt, rising by 9.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In addition, total output of pig iron in China in the first seven months of this year was 351.97 million mt, up by 14.4 percent, while finished steel output for the period totaled 465.87 million mt, increasing by 23.1 percent, both compared to the same period last year.
