China's auto output up 14.8% in 2013, sales up 13.9%

In 2013, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 22.1168 million units and 21.9841 million units, up by 14.8 percent and 13.9 percent year on year respectively, as stated by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

In particular, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China in 2013 totaled 18.0852 million units and 17.9289 million units, increasing by 16.5 percent and 15.7 percent year on year respectively. As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales in 2013 amounted to 4.0316 million units and 4.0552 million units, up 7.6 percent and 6.4 percent respectively, both on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, also in the given year, China's auto export volume amounted to 977,300 units, down 7.5 percent, including 596,300 passenger vehicles and 381,000 commercial vehicles, down 9.8 percent and 3.5 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
