China to cut nationwide coke production

As reported by SteelOrbis last week, China's Shanxi province is planning to cut its output in order to stop the fall in prices and balance the oversupply. Shanxi Coking Co Ltd announced the company would cut coke production by only a small portion. According to China Coking Industry Association, the production cuts will be nationwide. China's coke demand is estimated to reach 220 million tons in 2005, while the procution capacity will be almost 260 million tons.
