China reports 15 billion mt of new proven iron ore reserves

Wang Min, deputy minister at China's Ministry of Land and Resources, has stated that China has recently discovered proven iron ore reserves exceeding 15 billion mt in total.

Deputy Minister Wang added that over 10 billion mt of the newly-discovered iron ore reserves are located in the areas of Yanzhou, Anshan and Jidong. New large-scale mines are currently in the planning phase in the areas in question, he said.
