China Railway Corp. expects to carry 3.28 billion mt of cargo in 2014

On January 9, Sheng Guangzu, general manager of China Railway Corporation (CRC), stated that in 2014 CRC expects to carry 2.27 billion passengers, up 10 percent, while it expects to transport 3.28 billion mt of goods, up two percent, both year on year. Fixed asset investments of China Railway Corp. in 2014 are expected to total RMB 630 billion ($103 billion).

In 2013, CRC carried 2.08 billion passengers, up 10.7 percent, and transported 3.22 billion mt of cargo, unchanged, both on year-on-year basis.

In 2013, the total length of China's railway network reached 100,000 km, with high-speed railways accounting for over 10,000 km.
