China Minmetals sees net profit almost double in 2011

Chinese metals and mineral trading company China Minmetals Corporation has announced that in 2011 its total net profit came to RMB 12.77 billion ($2 billion), rising by 98.47 percent year on year.

In 2011, China Minmetals's aggregate steel sales volume reached 28.8 million mt. Meanwhile, its sales of iron ore in the given year reached 53.88 million mt, while its sales of iron ore concentrate totaled 4.99 million mt, both constituting new historic highs. By the end of 2011, the company possessed 1.86 billion mt of iron ore resources, 12.03 million mt of copper resources and 27.09 million mt of lead-zinc resources.
