China Minmetals posts 2007 profit of RMB 6.8 billion

Giant Chinese trading company China Minmetals Corporation has disclosed its financial results for 2007. In the year in question, the operation scale and profits of China Minmetals Corporation maintained a continuous trend of rapid increase, with an operating income of $21.8 billion and a profit of RMB 6.8 billion ($941 million).

The major resource reserves of China Minmetals Corporation are as follows: 604 million mt of iron ore, 250 million mt of coking coal and 410,000 mt of tungsten ore. In 2007, the corporation supplied 11 million mt of finished steel, 4.1 million mt of coal, 800,000 mt of coking coal, 145,000 mt of copper cathodes and 700,000 mt of aluminium oxide.
