According to Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC), its subsidiary China MCC20 Group has won a tender to carry out the reconstruction of the hot galvanizing units of Chinese steelmaker Baosteel's 2030 cold rolling mill.

The C108 hot galvanizing units at the 2030 cold rolling mill have been in operation for over 20 years, and so Baosteel has decided to dismantle the units and reconstruct new ones. The new units are expected to produce 280,000 mt of high-strength and ultra-high-strength GI products and 100,000 mt of hot dip aluminium-silicon alloy-coated steel products per year. Work on the reconstruction project will commence at the end of February this year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
