On Thursday, April 7, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that it has decided to cancel the antidumping (AD) duties against stainless cold rolled sheet (CRS) imported from Japan and South Korea.

At the end of 2000, in response to a petition from Chinese domestic steelmakers, the MOC decided to impose antidumping measures against stainless CRS imported from Japan and South Korea for a period of five years. In 2006, the measures were extended by another five years. The duties in question were in the range of 17-58 percent for CRS from Japan and in the range of 4-57 percent for CRS from South Korea.

Following the MOC'S latest decision, the antidumping duties in question cease to be effective as of April 8, 2011.
