The Chilean price distortion commission, CNDP, has launched an anti-dumping probe into imports of steel grinding rods from China, following a request from local producer CAP Acero made on January 3, 2017.

CNDP said the product currently under investigation falls under the Chilean HTS code 7228.3000. CAP Acero is Chile’s only producer of the product.

CNDP said there was existing evidence of dumping practices by Chinese exporters and as such, CNDP’s members unanimously decided to launch the probe.
