Central Iron Ore applies for two iron ore tenements in Western Australia

On January 20, Canadian iron ore miner Central Iron Ore Ltd announced that it has successfully applied for two new tenements in Western Australia that "are considered prospective for the occurrence of iron ore."

The province in question has a history of large-scale iron ore production, with the Koolyanobbing operation (formerly Portman Limited) currently producing at an annual rate of about 5 million mt of direct shipping ore.
