Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending May 29 the
US rig count decreased by 10 to 875, after a three-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count increased by three to 225, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 13 to 646. The overall rig count is down by 991 from 1,866 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 26 in the week ending May 29 to 72, after a five-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 100 from 198 rigs during the same week a year ago.
