Canadian rig count rises again along with US rig count

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 23, the US rotary rig count increased by eight to 941 following a six-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by three to 183, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 11 to 758. The overall rig count is now up by 520 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 11 to 170 rigs in the week ending June 23, following a 27-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 94 rigs from the same week a year ago.
