Canadian rig count continues to increase

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending June 13 the US rig count decreased by six to 1,854, following a six-rig decrease the week before.  The rig count is still up by 83 from 1,771 rigs during the same week a year ago.  The gas rig count decreased by 10 to 310, whereas the oil rig count increased by six to 1,542.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased in the week ending June 6, by 30 to reach 244 following a 16-rig increase the previous week.  The Canadian rig count is now up 68 from 176 rigs during the same week a year ago.
