Canadian iron ore shipments decline in June

According to Natural Resources Canada, total shipments of iron ore in June reached 3,628,930 mt, down 5.8 percent year-on-year and down 0.1 percent month-on-month.

Of the June total, 569,726 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 3,059,2014 was exported. This represents an increase of 8.1 percent year-on-year and 63.8 percent month-on-month for domestic iron ore shipments. Iron ore exports decreased 8.0 percent year-on-year and fell 6.9 percent month-on-month.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of the June totaled 3,330,577 mt, up 13.2 percent year-on-year and up 0.2 percent month-on-month.
