The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced Tuesday it has begun a preliminary injury inquiry into a complaint by Fisher & Ludlow of Burlington, Ontario, that it has been hurt by dumping and subsidizing of Chinese steel.  A preliminary ruling on the complaint is expected to be issued by Dec. 20.

Earlier this year, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) issued final duties of about 200 percent on imports of steel gratings from China.

One of the companies that complained in that case was Fisher & Ludlow's US operations, based in Wexford, Pa.

Fisher & Ludlow is a unit of Ontario-based Harris Steel Corp., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor Corp.
