Canadian coking coal production edges up 0.4 percent in January

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 184,101 mt in January 2017, a 0.4 percent increase from the 183,317 mt produced in December but a 4.4 percent drop from the 192,634 mt produced in January 2016.
 
The supply of coking coal in Canada in January reached 253,065 mt, which represents a 3.5 percent increase from supply levels in December but a 2.9 percent decrease from supply levels in January 2016.
