Mexican steel association Canacero’s new regulation for zinc-coated (galvanized) carbon steel wire will be effective in 60 days, according to Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE.

According to a notice published at the nation’s official gazette, Diario Oficial Federal (DOF), the 60-day timeframe counts one day after April 26, 2017, when the notice was published.

The NMX-B-507-CANACERO-2017 norm sets the classification, specifications and probe methods for zinc-coated (galvanized) carbon steel wire used in the industry for general purposes.

The norm also covers other zinc-coated weights or masses for nails, staples, and wire from which nails and staples are cut and formed.
