CAAM: China’s auto output up 3.2 percent in January-May

In May this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 1.9642 million units and 1.9038 million units, down 5.6 percent and 4.6 percent month on month, while decreasing by 0.6 percent and 0.4 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on June 11.

In the first five months of the current year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 10.2444 million units and 10.0462 million units, up 3.2 percent and rising by 2.1 percent year on year, with these growth rates down 6.2 and 6.9 percentage points, respectively, compared to the first five months of 2014.
