CAAM: China’s auto output down 8.4 percent in August

In August this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 1.5697 million units and 1.6645 million units, up 3.4 percent and 10.7 percent month on month, while decreasing by 8.4 percent and 3.0 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on September 10.

In the first eight months of the current year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China totaled 15.1824 million units and 15.0172 million units, both slightly lower compared to the same period in 2014.

In each month since May this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China have been lower compared to the corresponding month last year.
