In August this year, the output of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 1.79 million units, rising by 1.8 percent month on month, while sales volumes totaled 1.87 million units, up 11.7 percent month on month, while increasing by 3.6 percent and 4.1 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-August period of the current year, the output of passenger vehicles in China totaled 15.03 million units, rising by 3.1 percent, while sales of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 14.8 million units, up 2.2 percent, both year on year.
As for commercial vehicles, the domestic output volume in August amounted to 303,000 units, increasing by 0.8 percent month on month, while sales came to 311,000 units, up 6.2 percent month on month, while increasing by 13.2 percent and 12.8 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-August period of the current year, domestic output of commercial vehicles totaled 2.65 million units, up 14.8 percent, with sales amounting to 2.7 million units, rising by 16.9 percent, both year on year.
