CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 14.7 percent in Jan-Sept

In September this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.232 million units and 2.268 million units, up 29.1 percent and 26.0 percent month on month, while rising by 36.8 percent and 28.9 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-September period of the current year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 16.818 million units and 16.752 million units, up 14.7 percent and 14.8 percent year on year, respectively. 
 
As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales volumes in September amounted to 299,000 units and 296,000 units, up 11.7 percent and 7.3 percent month on month, while increasing by 9.3 percent and 8.1 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-September period of the current year, domestic output and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 2.604 million units and 2.608 million units, up 4.8 percent and 4.0 percent year on year, respectively.
