In March this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 1.9285 million units and 1.8704 million units, increasing by 36.5 percent and 33.9 percent month on month, while up 10.3 percent and 9.4 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-March period, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 5.3101 million units and 5.3051 million units, up 10.7 percent and 9 percent year on year.
As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales in March amounted to 355,000 units and 370,200 units, up 62.1 percent and 88.3 percent month on month, while decreasing by 21.7 percent and 19.4 percent year on year. In the January-March period, domestic output and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 891,500 units and 847,900 units, down 18.4 percent and 19.5 percent year on year, respectively.
Meanwhile, in March, China's auto export volume amounted to 69,800 units, up 35.7 percent month on month, while declining by 18.4 percent year on year, including 38,900 passenger vehicles and 30,900 commercial vehicles, up 27.6 percent and 47.6 percent month on month, while decreasing by 19.9 percent and 16.4 percent on year-on-year basis, respectively.
In the first three months of the year, China's auto export volume totaled 183,200 units, down 12.3 percent year on year, including 104,600 units passenger vehicles and 78,700 units commercial vehicles, down 17 percent and 5.3 percent year on year, respectively.
