CAAM: China’s auto output up 7.2 percent in January-November

In November this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 2.1607 million units and 2.0909 million units, up 5.7 percent and 5.2 percent month on month respectively, while rising by 1.2 percent and 2.3 percent year on year, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on December 10. In the first 11 months of the year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China totaled 21.4305 million units and 21.0791 million units, up 7.2 percent and 6.1 percent year on year respectively, with these growth rates 7.1 and 7.4 percentage points lower compared to the same period last year.

In particular, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China in November this year totaled 1.8346 million units and 1.7753 million units, increasing by 4.4 percent and 3.9 percent month on month respectively, while up 2.9 percent and 4.7 percent year on year. In the January-November period of the year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 17.9783 million units and 17.6397 million units, up 10.3 percent and 9.2 percent year on year, respectively.

As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales in November this year amounted to 326,100 units and 315,600 units, up 13.9 percent and 13.3 percent month on month, while decreasing by 7.1 percent and 9.2 percent on year-on-year basis, respectively. In the first 11 months, domestic output and sales of commercial vehicles in China amounted to 3.4522 million mt and 3.4395 million mt, down 6.4 percent and 7.3 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, also in November, China's auto export volume amounted to 74,000 units, up 0.7 percent month on month and decreasing by 15.6 percent year on year, including 42,800 passenger vehicles and 31,100 commercial vehicles, down 2.0 percent and up 4.6 percent on month-on-month basis, while decreasing by 23.7 percent and 1.3 percent year on year, respectively. In the first 11 months of the year, China's auto export volume totaled 810,400 units, down 9.3 percent year on year.
